Foreign Trade Zone
Foreign-Trade Zone (FTZ) benefits can include expedited shipments, reduced transportation costs, reduced paperwork, or quota restricted materials. You can also benefit from duty deferral, duty elimination, duty reduction, Customs fees management, or state inventory tax exemption.
A FTZ is a restricted-access site that is treated as being outside Customs territory of the United States for tariffs and Customs procedures. Products are imported into the Zone duty free and Customs duty is determined when the merchandise leaves the Zone. Merchandise may enter the FTZ without a formal Customs entry, payment of Customs duties, or payment of federal excise taxes.
