Transportation Improvement District (TID)

The Montgomery County Transportation Improvement District (the “TID”) is a special purpose local government created by the Montgomery County Board of Commissioners in 2001 to finance and expedite high priority transportation improvement projects that support significant economic development in Montgomery County and its region.

The TID is engaged with projects at the request of other Montgomery County governments. Its role with individual projects ranges from planning and advising to full turn-key financing and delivery, depending on specific project requirements. Their design and construction work has had a significant impact on economic development in the area and continues to look for ways to improve and maintain the area’s increasingly fluid, integrated transportation system.
