Dan Bish has been a Community & Economic Development Specialist with Montgomery County, Ohio since 2016 where he focuses on business retention, expansion and attraction project management.

He helps administer the BusinessFirst! For a Greater Dayton Region program, a regional business retention and expansion program made up of about 34 local jurisdictions in a five-county region (Darke, Preble, Miami, Montgomery and Greene Counties) and over 100 resource partners. Since the program began in 2001, our partners have conducted over 9,600 business retention visits and coordinated networking meetings, trainings, business walks, small business resource rallies, roundtables, reports and studies to benefit the BusinessFirst! Dayton region.

Dan also manages Montgomery County’s Economic Development/Government Equity (ED/GE) grant program which annually distributes $2.5 million to retention, expansion, and attraction projects each year.  Since 2010, ED/GE companies have committed to creating and retaining over 18,000 jobs and the program has leveraged $50 of private investment for every $1 of ED/GE.

Prior to joining Montgomery County, he worked in various economic development and planning capacities for multiple cities in the St. Louis region.
